The pharma-adjacent tech and services sectors continued to attract experienced leadership talent during June and July, with companies across clinical trial technology, AI, manufacturing services, diagnostics, and healthcare software making a wide range of senior appointments.

From chief executives and commercial leaders to scientific, financial, and operational specialists, many of the moves reflected growing demand for expertise in scaling businesses, driving commercial growth, and advancing technology-enabled healthcare solutions.

Rentschler Biopharma appoints new CEO. German CDMO Rentschler Biopharma, which operates facilities in Massachusetts and Stevenage in the UK, named Dr Torsten Woehr as CEO. Woehr joined from Bachem Group, where he served as chief commercial officer and led the company’s global commercial activities, overseeing major strategic investments with a focus on sustainable growth.

FibroFind promotes scientific leader to chief executive. Preclinical CRO FibroFind appointed Lee Borthwick as CEO. Previously chief scientific officer, Borthwick played a key role in developing the company’s human-relevant preclinical testing platform since its launch. He succeeded co-founder Jelena Mann, who remained with the business as a non-executive director.

Komodo Health reshapes executive structure. AI and real-world evidence specialist Komodo Health announced two senior leadership changes. Web Sun, previously president, was elevated to co-CEO alongside existing chief executive Dr Arif Nathoo. At the same time, Miles Ennis was appointed president. Ennis joined the company as chief revenue officer in July 2024 before becoming chief operating officer in September 2025. Komodo Health supports life sciences companies through AI, real-world evidence, and clinical trial data solutions.

Digital health companies welcome new CEOs. Two healthcare technology businesses appointed new chief executives this summer. Behavioural health technology company Sunwave selected Corey Hansen as CEO. Hansen most recently led Lumistry, where he oversaw four acquisitions and expanded annual recurring revenue beyond $40 million. Meanwhile, patient-focused clinical trial technology provider uMotif appointed Andrea Valente as CEO. Valente previously led eConsent specialist ClinOne, which was acquired by uMotif in 2024, and earlier held positions at Medable and Oracle.

Quest Diagnostics strengthens pharma services business. Quest Diagnostics appointed Trevor Page as vice president and general manager of pharma services. Page joined the laboratory testing giant from Grail, where he served as SVP and VP/general manager for pharma partnerships, focusing on the application of multi-cancer early detection technologies within precision oncology.

Leadership changes at First Ascent Biomedical and Olympia Pharmacy. Cancer decision-support platform First Ascent Biomedical appointed Raymond Rodriguez-Torres as president. He sports leadership experience from organisations including Genentech, Roche, and Sanofi-Aventis, where his work included commercialisation strategy, managed care initiatives, and therapeutic launches. At Olympia Pharmacy, Joshua Fritzler was promoted to president. Having served as CFO since 2021, Fritzler helped guide the launch and expansion of the company’s 503B outsourcing facility, Wesley Pharmaceuticals.

Finance appointments at ViCentra and PeptiSystems. Insulin delivery specialist ViCentra named Ian Wells chief financial officer. Wells will draw on his experience as global CFO of HOYA Vision Care, a $2.1 billion division operating across more than 30 countries, where he oversaw acquisitions, finance transformation initiatives, and margin expansion. Peptide and oligonucleotide synthesis technology developer PeptiSystems also strengthened its finance function, appointing Ida Nordberg as CFO. Most recently, Nordberg worked at Oncopeptides and previously held positions with GE Healthcare and C-RAD.

CDMO and CRO sector adds operational and scientific expertise. Several companies operating in manufacturing and research services announced senior appointments.

  • Polish biologics specialist Rezon Bio named Dr Ralf Otto chief operating officer. Otto brings extensive CDMO and biopharmaceutical manufacturing experience, including senior leadership roles at Boehringer Ingelheim BioXcellence, where he oversaw large-scale mammalian cell culture operations supporting clinical and commercial supply.
  • Kindeva Drug Delivery appointed Brok Weichbrodt as chief transformation officer. Prior to joining Kindeva, Weichbrodt played a significant role in scaling Genezen from a viral vector start-up into a specialist CDMO.
  • Belgium-based CDMO and CRO Ardena selected Ariane de Ganck as chief science officer. Since joining Ardena in 2019, de Ganck has held several senior leadership positions, most recently chief commercial officer.
  • Meanwhile, newly aligned discovery and development organisations Symeres and Axxam appointed Russell Thomas as chief scientific officer. Alongside experience with both companies, Thomas previously held scientific and leadership roles at GSK, Evotec, Siena Biotech, and Proteros.

Cellular Intelligence expands commercial and strategic leadership. AI-native cell biology company Cellular Intelligence strengthened its leadership team with two appointments. Adam Weinroth, formerly chief marketing officer of Form Bio, became chief marketing officer, while Jonathan Alspaugh joined as chief strategy officer after serving as a managing director at Evercore and later as chief strategy officer at RyCarma.

Codis broadens business development team. Global CDMO Codis announced three commercial appointments to support its expansion in Europe and North America. The company specialises in spray drying, amorphous solid dispersions, and advanced particle engineering technologies.

  • Pedro Fernandes Botas joined as business development director for Europe, bringing experience from Lotus Pharmaceutical, Faes Farma, Bene, Labatec Pharma, and Hovione.
  • Suzanne Brady became business development director for the US after holding roles at Hovione, Mikart, Serán Bioscience, and Lonza.
  • Derek Deckrader was also appointed business development director for the US, adding expertise gained at Pharma Tech, Martin Bauer, and Sensient.

QuantHealth builds multidisciplinary executive team. Clinical trial simulation company QuantHealth made four senior appointments as it continued to expand its AI-powered platform.

  • Dr Francisco Beca joined as chief medical officer, bringing experience across oncology, clinical development, and regulatory strategy, including leadership roles at Merck and Seagen.
  • Sukant Mittal became SVP of corporate development and strategy. During his career he supported the commercialisation of multiple therapies, including Novartis’ Kesimpta.
  • Flavio Dormont took on the role of vice president of scientific strategy following his work at Sanofi, where he helped establish the Sanofi-QuantHealth partnership.
  • Agya Garg joined as vice president of product after serving as head of product at Loris.AI and helping guide that business through its acquisition by Contentsquare.

Three digital companies expand C-Suite. A number of additional tech companies made high-level appointments.

  • Precision medicine technology company PrecisionLife named Dr Kam Pooni chief product officer. Pooni’s experience spans diagnostics, pharmaceuticals, and healthcare innovation, including leading development and commercialisation of the company’s Mechanostics portfolio.
  • Health IT company DataMEDS AI, formerly known as Wellgistics Health, appointed Brett Thompson as chief technology officer. Thompson is the founder and president of technology consulting and software engineering firm Pivcon.
  • Elsewhere, risk-based quality management software provider CluePoints selected Martin Magazzolo as chief commercial officer. Magazzolo joined from Honeywell’s life sciences division, where he held the same title, and boasts more than three decades of leadership experience across life sciences, software, healthcare technology, and data services.

Suncombe promotes long-serving team members. UK supplier Suncombe made a trio of appointments from within its organisation. After two decades with the company, Mark Keen moved into the position of general manager, having previously worked across system design and the delivery of major projects. Shaun Baker became sales manager, bringing extensive life sciences and process engineering experience, as well as more than 20 years of involvement with the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering. The company also promoted Carl Watson to workshop team leader after 20 years in its workshop operation.

iA strengthens finance and R&D functions. Pharmacy fulfilment specialist iA announced two senior executive appointments: James Hammerschmidt joined as chief financial officer following his tenure as CFO of NextGen Healthcare and Srinivas Chintha became EVP of research and development. Chintha most recently served as chief technology officer of Honeywell Connected Enterprise and brings extensive technology and innovation leadership experience to the role.
