BIO-Europe Spring is Europe's largest springtime biotech partnering event, bringing together over 3,700 leaders and innovators in the life sciences industry. It's designed for partnering, business development, and licensing opportunities in biotechnology and pharmaceuticals.

With three main tracks – Business of Biotech, Therapeutic Insights, and Ecosystem Innovation – BIO-Europe Spring 2026 brings together the usual dealmaking, M&A, and strategy playbook, alongside guidance on ‘trending’ therapeutic areas such as cardiometabolic and rare disease, as well as taking a closer look at emerging regions and incubators fostering biotech’s next wave.

Geographically, delegates come from over 60 countries and their sectors include biotech, mid-size and big pharma, academic institutions, investors, and R&D. Indeed, the agenda itself this year has a particularly global focus.

With Portugal home to world-class innovation driven by top globally-recognised academic institutions like the Universidade Nova de Lisboa, University of Porto, and the University of Coimbra – the country has been hitting above its weight in biotech dealmaking, with companies like CellmAbs and local VC fund launches in the news.
