Digital health companies, clinical trial technology providers, and life sciences suppliers continued to invest in senior leadership in March, with appointments spanning operations, commercial leadership, technology, legal, and people functions.
The hires reflected a sector balancing scale, transformation, and execution as digital tools and outsourced services play an increasingly central role in drug development.
Biologos names new chief executive. Biologos, an Illinois‑based supplier specialising in the manufacture of custom sterile‑filtered liquid solutions, appointed Hetal Patel as CEO. Patel stepped into the role after serving as chief operating officer since 2024 and brings more than 25 years of leadership experience across the life sciences. Her appointment follows a period of operational growth as the company continued to expand its manufacturing capabilities.
PerkinElmer brings on experienced industry leader. PerkinElmer, a global supplier of specialised services and technologies for the life sciences, applied, and food markets, welcomed Michael Stubblefield as CEO. He joined after serving as president and CEO of Avantor from 2014 to 2025, where he led the company through a decade of global expansion.
4basebio strengthens operational leadership. Cambridge‑based 4basebio, which manufactures high‑quality synthetic DNA products for research, therapeutic, and pharmacological applications, recruited Scott Lorimer as chief operating officer. Lorimer brings 30 years of experience in bioprocess development and commercial manufacturing of biologics, including cell and gene therapies.
eClinical Solutions expands operations and AI leadership. Global clinical trial technology provider eClinical Solutions made two senior appointments as it continues to develop digital software and services for clinical research. Lauren Whitsell joined as chief operating officer after serving in a similar capacity at STARLIMS, while Venu Mallarapu took on the expanded role of chief transformation and AI officer, building on his tenure as EVP of global operations and assuming broader strategic responsibility across transformation initiatives.
Commercial leadership appointments in clinical trial technology. Several clinical trial technology companies added senior commercial expertise:
- Inato, which is building an AI platform for managing clinical trials, welcomed Brad Cottreau as chief commercial officer. He brings more than 20 years of sales experience and deep familiarity with the clinical research landscape, having previously helped scale companies including Advarra and Endpoint Clinical.
- Symbiosis Pharmaceutical Services, a UK‑based CMO specialising in sterile GMP manufacturing for clinical trials and commercial supply, recruited Joanne Anderson as chief commercial officer. She rejoined the company from Recipharm, where she served as global key account director.
Governance, legal, and people leadership roles. A number of firms made senior appointments focused on governance and organisational scale:
- Konovo, a global healthcare company aiming to transform research through technology, appointed Jessica Santos as chief compliance and privacy officer. She joins from Oracle Life Sciences after holding compliance leadership roles at Cerner, Kantar Health, Sermo, and TNS, and serving as an associate professor at the University of Cambridge.
- Kindeva, a US‑based global CDMO focused on drug‑device combination products, brought on Mike Cowhig as chief legal officer, adding more than 25 years of life sciences legal and leadership experience.
- Ardena, a Belgium‑based pharmaceutical CDMO and bioanalytical CRO, welcomed Paul Edwards as chief people officer, coming off of a 16‑year career at Catalent Pharma Solutions.
- ConcertAI, a digital health company providing real‑world evidence and AI‑driven SaaS solutions, recruited Missie Jerome as chief people officer, bringing nearly 15 years of HR leadership experience from healthcare and health technology organisations including athenahealth and Signature Healthcare.
Sales, technology, and scientific appointments. Additional hires spanned sales, technology, and discovery services:
- QuantHealth, which offers AI‑powered clinical trial simulation technology, made two senior appointments. The company welcomed Heather Adamson as head of marketing and communications and brought on Nadav Weinberg as SVP, sales.
- Ensorcell, a supplier of next‑generation life sciences tools, appointed Amy Teachout as head of customer excellence and Geoff Hodge as head of technology. Hodge is a co‑founder of Xcellerex and has served as CEO of SOTIO Biotech and CTO of Unum Therapeutics.
- Reset Health, a digital health company delivering end‑to‑end management of chronic conditions, recruited Alex Nancekievill as group chief technology officer, following his Board role at Healthcare Business Solutions.
- Sygnature Discovery, a UK‑ and Canada‑based integrated drug discovery CRO with headquarters in Nottingham, welcomed Susanne Back as head of in vivo She brings 20 years of experience across academia and industry, including senior roles at Orion Pharma and Charles River.
