Taking the microbiome seriously, with Sam Possemiers

When pharmaphorum last spoke with MRM Health founder and CEO Sam Possemiers at JP Morgan, he told us about his company’s microbiome-based therapy for ulcerative colitis.

At LSX USA in Boston last month, editor-in-chief Jonah Comstock caught up with Possemiers to get an update – and to go into a little more depth about how the company is approaching microbiome therapeutics with all the clinical rigour of traditional small molecule drug development.

Possemiers also gets into the company’s regulatory strategy, the advantages of microbiome therapy in terms of safety and tolerability, as well as manufacturing and scalability, and what the company’s current funding goals are. He speaks a bit about what he’s seeing and hearing at the conference as well.
