DNA as a programmable language, with Adrian Woolfson and Kaihang Wang

Interview at JPM26 with Adrian Woolfson and Kaihang Wang from Genyro

A new technology just announced this weekend in a paper in Nature could have a radical impact on how gene assembly is carried out.

In this interview conducted during JPM Week in San Francisco, pharmaphorum editor-in-chief Jonah Comstock spoke with Adrian Woolfson, co-founder and CEO of Genyro, and Kaihang Wang, chief scientific advisor and co-founder, who also invented the new technology called Sidewinder.

Wang explains how inserting “DNA page numbers” into oligonucleotides will allow gene editing to move into a new world where DNA can be written essentially from scratch.

Woolfson and Wang discuss the enormous potential of this new technology – particularly in combination with AI – as well as its bioethical ramifications.

Check out the video to hear firsthand about a potentially groundbreaking new technology, then check out the paper to learn more.
