ASCO 2026: Takeda’s Innovent deal bears fruit, with Teresa Bitetti and PK Morrow

Oncology

Takeda presented data across a range of therapeutics and indications at ASCO 2026, including on investigational drugs like TAK-928 in non-small cell lung cancer and and in-market drugs like rusfertide in polycemia vera (PV). But a lot of the biggest presentations flowed out of the company’s partnership with Innovent Biologics that was announced last fall.

In a conversation on site at ASCO 2026, pharmaphorum Editor in Chief Jonah Comstock spoke with Teresa Bitetti, president of the global oncology business for Takeda and PK Morrow, who leads global oncology development. They share some of the highlights from Takeda’s data at the show as well as discussing how it fits into their larger strategy of expanding from haematology into solid tumours.

Bitetti also discusses how ASCO helps pharma companies to align their strategy with not only where the standard of care is now, but where it’s going next, and describes some of the most exciting trends in immune-oncology she’s seen at the show.
