The PM Society and Word Monster are joining forces in a new partnership focusing on raising standards and nurturing talent in the MedComms industry. The objective is to set the bar for quality and training, ensuring healthcare professionals and patients are receiving exceptional content to make meaningful decisions.

  • The PM Society, the not-for-profit organisation with its legacy of shaping industry standards, offers expert-refined training courses and recognises excellence through the annual PM Society Awards. 
  • Word Monster, the specialist MedComms agency known for its content-first approach, scientific storytelling, and high-quality standards, brings deep expertise in bespoke and thorough training. The training arm of Word Monster, Monster Academy, can advance new or experienced writers looking to rapidly upskill or finesse their skills. 

Raising the bar

Together, the PM Society and Word Monster are committed to establishing higher minimum standards for medical writing. Both partners are dedicated to improving training and fostering innovation in the industry.

Continuous professional development (CPD) is a cornerstone for both partners. The PM Society Academy courses and Monster Academy programmes include CPD accredited content to ensure competency and quality. The importance of CPD has been recognised by both the PM Society and the Healthcare Communications Association, with a drive for medical writers to invest a minimum of 32 hours of individual development per year. This encourages writers to improve and keep up to date with industry developments.
