CPHI Milan 2026 showcases new Sustainability Summit
A new event at CPHI Milan 2026 hopes to inspire delegates to collaborate on some of the pharmaceutical industry’s biggest sustainability priorities.
The CPHI Sustainability Summit will take place for the first time at Fiera Milano on October 5 and 6. It is expected to bring together more than 300 sustainability leaders, pharmaceutical executives and supply chain stakeholders.
Sustainability is now taking on a more prominent role throughout the value chain, from manufacturing to procurement, packaging, research and development, compliance and operations. However, turning sustainability ambitions into practical change can require coordination between organisations with different capabilities and resources. Progress in one area of the value chain may also depend on decisions made elsewhere, reinforcing the need for greater stakeholder collaboration.
The Summit has been designed to help organisations develop measurable and commercially viable solutions through collaborative workshops, discussions and working groups.
The two-day event will feature more than 50 expert-led content sessions, as well as more than 20 roundtables and working groups. Key themes under discussion include supply chain decarbonisation, green chemistry, device and packaging innovation, evolving regulation, implementing sustainability at scale and absorbing green costs along the value chain.
Attendees will be encouraged to interact with fellow industry peers, sharing knowledge and engaging in practical problem-solving. This focus on participation is intended to help delegates move beyond identifying common challenges towards examining how solutions, best practices and successful approaches can be applied in practice. It also creates an opportunity for organisations at different stages of their sustainability journey to learn from one another.
The Summit builds on the work of the CPHI Sustainability Collective, set up two years ago to facilitate collaboration among industry change-makers driven to tackle global sustainability challenges. While the event will be of interest to sustainability professionals in the industry, it will discuss issues that will be of interest to delegates working in a range of business functions, from procurement to manufacturing, R&D, policy and compliance.
All Summit registrations include access to the three-day CPHI Milan conference itself, giving attendees an opportunity to connect with pharmaceutical thought leaders and suppliers.
