Havas Lynx Group reigns at PM Society Awards 2021

Havas Lynx Group were the big winners of the 35th annual PM Society Awards on Thursday 18 March, picking up six Gold awards, five Silver and three Bronze awards.

Over 1000 people tuned in online to watch the virtual awards ceremony which was hosted by PM Society Chairs Caroline Benson and Colin Williams and head judge Sarah Sowerby from Wordbird. The ceremony included an online magic show by magician Matt Parro and interviews with Rory Sutherland, vice chairman, Ogilvy and Ben Osborn, UK MD, Pfizer.

There were a total of 21 Gold Awards up for grabs, including new categories for Brand  Campaigns on a smaller budget, won by FCB Health Europe, the best COVID Communications won by Havas Lynx Group and best agency Creative Culture, won by VCCP Health. It was also the first year for Effectiveness Awards – in which entries were judged on both their creativity and implementation as well as the outcomes of the programmes and campaigns.

Although Havas dominated the awards for another year, other agencies won multiple golds including Syneos Health Communications which took three Golds and McCann, VCCP and W20 Group all scoring two Golds.

Other Gold winners on the agency side were BBH, Cherry, earthware, FCB Health Europe and Page & Page & Partners. Best in Show, as chosen by head judge Sarah Sowerby, was awarded to W2O group for “Breaking the cycle of bad asthma behaviours”.

On the client side, AstraZeneca topped the leader board, scooping up four Golds, one Silver and a Bronze Award. Edwards Lifesciences followed with three Golds and Roche and Sanofi Genzyme both received two Golds.

Other winning pharma companies were Accord UK, Ferring, Janssen, Norgine, Novartis, Novo Nordisk and Vifor. There was special mention for the winning pro bono campaigns by Hamell and NAKEDHEALTH for the charity PAPYRUS.
