Envision Pharma Group has expanded its Envision the Patient team with the appointment of Amanda Boughey as global patient partnership director.

She joins the Horsham, UK-based healthcare communications company from Cancer Research UK, where she served as programme lead and led multi-stakeholder initiatives focused on the early diagnosis of cancer.

Professor Karen Woolley, global lead of patient partnerships at Envision, said: “I believe we’ve passed the tipping point with patient involvement in the pharma industry and are beginning to deeply understand how it will influence and transform the way we work.

“Evidence of this transformation can already be seen across medical publications, scientific congresses and indeed medical affairs teams as they build resources dedicated to patient engagement.”

Envision recently picked up the Best Practice award at ISMPP for its research on plain language summaries and a toolkit the agency co-created with patients, industry, publishers and plain language specialists.

Boughey added: “Envision has a fascinating, evidence-based approach and access to a broad group of stakeholders within healthcare, so I’m looking forward to working with all of them to amplify the patient voice and ensure patients have access to the very best in scientific research and understanding.”
