The Bloc promotes Jennifer Matthews to CEO and president
New York-based healthcare creative agency The Bloc has promoted managing partner Jennifer Matthews to CEO and president.
It’s a move that will see founding partners Susan Miller Viray and Rico Viray become the agency’s chairman and chairman of its global healthcare communications network The Bloc Partners, respectively.
Miller Viray said: "Our decision to elevate Jennifer was based on The Bloc's pivotal 2018 performance. In a year when we were braced for the worst, she rallied the entire agency with her grit, passion and integrity to embrace change and transform ourselves for sustainable growth.”
Matthews has spent 12 years at the agency, during which time she helped change it by building on its solid HCP creative foundation and adding best-in-class consumer, payer and digital/omnichannel practices.
"Looking back, The Bloc has been in a constant state of evolution driven by our entrepreneurial spirit," she said. "Today, we are uniquely positioned as the only independent agency with the diversity of talent, global network and scale of services of a holding company - without the holding company."
